December 2008 - A trip to Shirdi and BhimaShankar
On a religious trip to Shirdi, we had opportunity to take about 100 kms trip to Bhimashankar, a nearby place. Its a great uphill drive filled with natural scenes. We had a Travera booked for the trip and I must say it was a comfortable drive all along.
The 100 Km stretch covers many villages, temples, lakes we had nice glipses of village life, bullock carts, ploughs, and other agriculture related machines, not to forget wonderfull village lifestyle.
For Aaditya, it was completely new experience. He enjoyed playing around piles of paddy straws. We stopped at many places to see village lifestyle closely.
We also passed by a sanctuary but we could not see wild animals in the trip. Something we missed. But how a deep junglelooks llike we experienced a littlebit.
And finally we reached Bhimashankar! Shivlinga at this place is among the 12 mythological Shiva Jyotirlinga. Its very old temple on a hill surrounded by dense forrests. We prayed for peace and hppiness and came back.
Bhimashankar is a nice place to see if you happen to visit Maharastra especially Shirdi region.
